Christmas Anery

Kiss My Hearse
So far these two look like normal ghosts, but we'll see with time if the Christmas gene does anything to their appearance. They were produced by Joe Pierce who graciously allowed me to buy these two extra males he had. Thanks, Joe!

Their names are Gunpowder (the first one) and Winchester (second pic). The names have nothing to do with firearms, actually. Winchester is named for the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, CA (there's a slight connection to firearms there, I guess) and Gunpowder was the name of the horse Johnny Depp's character rode in Sleepy Hollow (blue roan so it resembles a ghost corn colour, sort of, faded black). I love the names and these two will make a fabulous addition to my Christmas breeding projects.

It'll be interesting to see how they progress, especially if they get the christmas 'bronzing' to their borders, thanks for posting.

I'm with Janine on that.
And I want to see Christmas in more comdos with other genes also.

If all goes well, next spring I'll be introducing my Christmas male to several girls, an Okeetee and a butter mot for sure!

This is the first time i've read anything about a "Christmas" gene... gimme some pics, i'm curious!

I'm gonna go search for some!

Christmas is a type of hypo, incompatible with hypo a and sunkissed. It gives a really bright orange and cherry-red snake, with a greenish bronzing to the borders and ventral checks. Mine is the brightest coloured snake I've got

I think I can *just* see the bronzing you're talking about.. i'm a tad bit color-blind AND i'm sure the pic is leaving some of the color to my imagination!

Very cool!

I think they are the brightest of the morphs and I am looking forward to breeding diffused Christmas stripes or just diffused Christmas. Oh, what a pretty red snake that will be!
