Cleaning out the ponds

Cleaned out our two ponds today. Emptied them after nearly 10 years and checked out fish and cleaned the dead leaves off the bottom.
Was great to find a load of frogs. They seem to be dwindling over here.

Anyway. About 8 years ago we put 2 couple of pound mirror carp in the pool, about 2lb. They were pretty plain, nice, but plain.

Anyway, a couple of years ago one of them died unfortunatly but they must have bred before. As I say, for two plain parent fish I think we got a striking baby. There were only two babies, the other being quite plain and this one being awesome!

What a beauty.

We also put a grass carp in, about 5 years ago at about 2, maybe 3inches. He's now about 18 inches.

Also, a frog!

Enjoy.:)

Mirrors usually just have a few scales dotted here and there. This one as you can see has a perfect line. It is known as a linear mirror.

Hey, sorry i'm late replying.

Here's a picture of the pool at the top of the garden and the bottom. The fish above came out of the bottom pool which is a lot bigger than the top. As you can see, it's not totally full yet as we've been cleaning them out. Obviously.

Anyway, here you go.
