Climb less with age?

When I first got Shady she climbed all over everything in her viv. Her little fake bonzai tree hide and her little fake grass. She's about a year old now and I hardly ever see her climb on anything anymore. She may be too heavy for the grass, but she shouldn't be too big for the top of the tree. I was thinking about getting her some more climbing stuff or the reptile hammock, but I thought I'd make sure it's not an aging behavior thing first.

So, in short, do corn snakes generally climb less and less as they get older?

It all depends on the snake,
Gaia I have only had as an adult, she loves to cruise around and climb, but I never see her actually stay in her hammock or anything.
However, I see her climb on it & bee-bop around, and I see her hanging plants messed up, so I will continue to offer features at different levels for her enrichment :)

I have to agree it depends on the snake. Many of mine slowed down on climbing but I have a few that don't care how big they are they still climb.

Maybe if you add some new things now and again it will get her excited to check them out :)

It really depends on the snake, some climb alot and others not so much.

However most snakes will spend some time climbing when introduced to a new environment, but it is mostly because they are looking for a way out lol.

Ok, thanks guys! I think I'll get her a hammock and see how she likes that for starters. If she seems excited about it I'll add some more climbing stuff. I'm planning on upgrading her to a larger viv soon anyway, she's a growing girl.

Yeah my corn climbed for the first year of his life and then he mellowed out for about six months. over the last six months however he seems to have developed a love for climbing, he still tries to climb in spaces he knows he can't fit into anymore lol. makes a real mess of his water dish when he falls into it.
