i picked up a bottle of clorox anywhere surface spray/cleaner can i use that in my viv?

says its safe to use on pet stuff and its soo safe you ccan clean a fork with it then eat off it and its not harmful..

any suggestions??

It's a bit harsh. If you do use it, then you will need to do a very thorough rinsing. And give plenty of time to air dry.

I use a very mild bleach solution. I mix it in a $2 spray bottle that I pick up from Walmart. I then do a rinse and wipe thoroughly before reintroducing the snake.

I got clorox also but I diluted it it water, rinsed thoroughly and let it dry for like a day.

When they say "safe for pets", chances are they mean cats and dogs. Snakes are a bit more sensitive than our furred friends. I'd still wash with water after spraying. I use just a regular bleach solution to disinfect and rinse afterwards.

I have been using clorox anywhere spray (this is the one that is safe for babies) without rinsing on our racks and vivs for two years now. All snakes are doing well. It's very mild- a lot milder than bleach.

It is bleach, but in a specially formulated low concentration formula. I would expect it to be safe enough to use around the snakes, though I would make sure it was dry before letting the snake touch the surface (either air dry or wipe it dry).

Does anyone use HtH?
