Clutch/Parent Genes

So, from what I've figured out, my female is a snow, my male is an amel.
I was told that they'd most likely have all amel babies.

This wasn't the case. We had snows and amels. So, which is "normal"? & if all amels would be the normal outcome, why did I have snows as well(I'm assuming the male must be het for snow then?)?

I'm having a hard time determining genetics. Can't you tell? :dunce:

Also, I had the hardest time figuring out what my male was. I'll ask here just to make sure. This is my male quite a long time ago. His white has almost all but disappeared-he has really random, but obvious belly checkers in a very light, light orange. I'm amazed at how much they change over time!

I got some very bright red babies from this pair and I have a soft spot for snows, so seeing snows when I wasn't expecting them was nice.

Thanks.
