I'm curious for i used this for my leopard gecko and had no lll effects. Can i use this on a cornsnake or should i just get that out of there and put paper towels down. I have like 1-2 inches of the stuff in the cage
If you are talking about something like Eco-Earth or Bed a Beast, it is safe to use. I used it for a long time and I liked the way it looked, but my snakes seem to prefer aspen.
I use the coco nut bark in my tank. It's not the way you described it,though. The stuff I use is like all chopped up into small squares.Around a 1/2" in size,,maybe a 1/8" thick.I don't see an problems so far, other than its too coarse for my young snake to tunnel through. He finds plenty of places, and things to hide in,or under. One of his favorite places to be is up in a small plant. He just curls up in the branches, surveying his"territory" below .
im not an expert but my advice would be to do a bit more research before you let your snake near it. if its a well known brand that says safe for snakes then use it but if not make 100% sure it is before using it.
just because it is a well known brand that says it is safe does not mean that it is. ZooMed puts out heat rocks, i would call them a well known brand. And who ever makes calicisand........:shrugs:
