Coincidence or not?

Hey what do you guys think? My snake was usually active at night and in her hides by day. Then she started being very unactive, and not herself. I thought well maybe it's because she's been eating and taking her time to digest. Then it would be 3 days after eating and she'd poop already and still nothing. I figured i was just missing the times when she was moving around. Then i noticed she was getting dull and her eyes were cloudy. I thought to myself oh that makes sense right, she's in BLUE!! Good nothing's wrong with her, she'll snap out of it once she shed's. Finally the day before she did end up shedding i found snake mites! So i did the homemade mite remedy, but right before i started treatment, and cleaning she shed. Long story short, after getting rid of the mites, and after she shed. She's back to normal. Why do you think this is? Was it the shed? Or was it because she was finally mite free? Or is the whole things just a coincidence? Do your snakes usually get inactive while in blue? And do snakes in general not move much if they have mites?

You haven't gotten rid of the mites by a long shot. You will still need to do the treatments, one treatment isn't enough to get rid of a Mite infestation. Remember they can crawl out of the cage as well. So just keep treating your snake as the instructions tell you.

It depends on the snakes. Snake can and will die from an infestation, this hasn't gone that long I believe. More than likely your snake is more active now due to shed. Most of mine are always quiet during shed.

well i will keep doing the full treatments as instructed. But i noticed no mites in the past few days. Good sign so far. I figured it was the shed that was making her so quiet. Thanks

Mites can be gone for a month and then reappear. Its best to keep on treating for a few months.

a few months! wow i might just go buy a whole new tank. The instructions only say 3 treatments and it should be fixed. Are you sure a few months?

I bought some stuff it was really expensive but it only took 2 treatments and there is a lot of it. the first one killed the infestation and then I did it again a month later to kill any left overs or new and I haven't seen any since.buying a new tank wont do you much good they can be in the carpet and move back in later.
