Cold Corn???

CMatt2157

Don't Be "That Guy"
I've had my corn for going on 2 weeks now and yesterday I allowed one of my friends to touch/hold the snake. She mentioned it was cold and when I thought about it, he kinda was. I put him back in his viv and held him again this morning. He doesn't really seem cold, but more cool. All the temps are fine and there are hides on both sides. When I previously handled him, I never thought he felt cool or anything, but does anyone know if they should feel cool, or hot, or etc.?

its because your body temp is alot higher than the snakes, so it will feel cold even though it really isnt cold :p

A lot of people ask that! LOL I think I even did when I first got my corn. We are just hot-blooded mammals compared to them. They are really soft for snakes as well. I was surprised because my other snake is a garter and their skin is thick and tough so they don't seem as cool.

Snakes should feel cool unless they've just been over their heat mat before you pick them up. Sometimes a snake can feel colder than normal when the tank hasn't been heated.
