"het" is short for heterozygous...and refers to the genetic makeup of the snake. A heterozygous snake has 2 different alleles for a trait. In most circumstances you need 2 of the same recessive alleles for a trait to show.

It is (for the most part) impossible upon visual inspection to determine if a snake is het for anything. It is only known by knowing the genetics of the parents, or doing breeding tests in a hit/miss fasion to discover if there are any het's. Het's are really only good to know if you plan on breeding.

When you post a picture we'll be glad to take a stab at guessing it's morph/color.

Did you get it from a pet store? And if you did was it a local mom/pop or a chain (like petsmart/petco). The most common morphs for sale in chains like petsmart/petco are normals, amels, anery's, snows, and sometimes ghosts. At a local store it would depend on where/who they get their snakes from.

I got my snake from a large pet store, here in Mobile AL, D & D pet stop, the girl that raises thier snakes is the breeder.

Your best bet is to ask the breeder if you can. It will also be very helpful if she could tell you what the parents were, so you can work out whether yours is carrying any hets.
