I was fortunate enough to see and hold my corns daddy when i bought him/her.....i think his daddy was 3yrs old about 3'6" long and lovely yellow colouring

he/she is getting more yellow with tinges of orange as he grows....

do corns tend to take more after one parent or the other??? or are they completely individual??

thank you

Corns are definately influenced by the color of their parents, some babies more than others. This has been proven by the selective breeding of a certain look for several generations. Candy cane amels are a perfect example of this. If you breed 2 candy canes together, you will get mostly, if not all, candy cane offspring. But is you breed a candy cane to a "regular" amel, the chances are that most of the ofspring will be "regular" amels but perhaps with a lighter background, but not perfect candy canes.

If your snake's Daddy is very yellow, then your snake will probably have alot of yellow also. Of coarse, this can all depend upon what morph your snake is and if Daddy was a different morph (Ex: Daddy is a butter, but your snake is an amel het butter).

To add to that. I believe yellow is slower to develop than other colors. I think it tends to increase as the snake ages.

thanx for the info.... my corn is an albino snow corn (I think)

I can't get my head round the genetics so your replies are appreciated.

I don't plan on breeding or anything, I just wandered out of curiosity.

thank you

You should get a lot more yellow on a snow as it grows, wspecially if the father was more yellow then average. I would assume that size is determined partially by genetics as well, but feeding schedule and other factors can affect that as well.
