Condensation Problems ???

Hello guys

I've had my two new corns since saturday they are kept in exactly the same size tubs with exactly the same air holes (same size, same amount). In the females tub I noticed this morning there was condensation on the inside of the tub but the males is fine. It looks like she has knocked over her water so don't know if that is the problem.

I have made 15 additional holes in the lid of the tub this morning i'm hoping this will solve the problems. I am planning on cleaning the tub out tonight is this ok since i've only had her since saturday.

Any other suggestions to clear up the condensation ???

A big water spill will definitely cause that to happen. I'd remove all the old bedding and replace it with dry substrate. It molds _very_ quickly.

I've cleaned the tub out completely and made sure there is no moisture left in the tub before replacing the aspen and water bowl. I have now been and bought 2 dog bowls so hopefully that will be more sturdy. I did this last night and when I left for work this morning I couldn't see anymore condensation so i'm hoping the problem is solved. I had the female out last night while my wife was cleaning the tub. I kept it to the minimum amount of time handling wise but she seemed very calm so don't think she'll be much of a problem to get used to.
The male on the other hand seems to be a bit scared still when I change water and do the routine cleaning but guess he'll come round in time.
He is the smaller of the 2 at around 2 and half foot and she is measuring in at a whopping 3 foot already(she's CB08 ) but still nice and slender.

I'm very happy with my new snakeys, Smokey my anery was a little bit funny with me lat night but she is shedding so can be expected from time to time so let her miss a feed for the first time since i've had her.

Thank you for the advice Nanci

OK so the condensation seemed to have gone away for a few days but low and behold I came back from work and she has condensation again. I just can't think what can be causing it now, they are out for their first proper handling session tonight so will check for another water spillage but can't see anything when i've had a quick look. Any ideas what could be causing this ???

I just don't want her to get a R.I

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

If she's sliding in and out of the water, she might be spreading moisture around like that? Wouldn't be as obvious as a spill.

I'm presuming there is no way to stop this ???

As I said before I just don't want her to get an R.I as I know its a big killer of corns.

I've had them out tonight and there was no sign of any moisture aspen was bone dry.

Bit off topic now as well but it was the males first time being handled by me tonight and I was told he is already tame but he was very very stressed and jumpy and kept snapping at me (6-7 times in about 4 seconds). Is this normal as my new female and Smokey my baby anery were nothing like this they were absolutely fine once I was holding them

Does her tub get slightly more natural light than the male's? That's all I can think of. Maybe just try drilling more holes in her tub to improve air circulation. Make sure the water bowl is away from the heat source and drill some air holes at floor level next to the normal position of the bowl.

Yes I didnt think of that they are right next to each other but he is right behind the curtain whereas she is alot more in the light maybe thats the reason he is out all the time because he thinks its dark all the time as my curtains are black.

Thank you so glad I joined this forum as I would never of thought of that
