Constricted for the first time

Yesterday I fed my ghost a hopper for the 2nd time. I left the room to grab the brita water. I came back to see him squeezing the "life" out of the thawed hopper. He held onto it for awhile then gulped it down. I wish I would have seen hime strike at it.

Oh wells, I was still proud of my boy.

That's neat! Maybe next time trying jiggling it for him when you offer it. Mine often strike if I make the mouse seem alive.

Will do! I usually just put their meal in their feeding bin and let eat at their leisure (which is usually right away)

Or, once he has a hold of it, grab the tail and pull a little!!
Oh yeah, my daughter was helping me feed and she didn't let go of the mouse right away when Isis grabbed it and it was pretty comical. Don't worry she was using tongs.

The last time I fed my snakes, one of my more enthusiastic eaters grabbed the mouse so quickly and so fiercely that I was left holding the severed tail in the tongs. (And then I fed him the tail afterward!)

Sometimes mine strikes and constricts, other times she just crawls up to the mouse and takes it without any strike at all!

The silly thing she sometimes does is to strike, constrict, then let go of the mouse and not eat it at all. I wait 20 minutes then offer her a new mouse which she takes and eats without striking. I then have to use the tongs to remove the other mouse. If I try to offer he the other mouse she won't take it but will take another new one!!
