I have a UTH from Fluker's and it their website claims that the hottest it goes is 100 degrees... I know that is way too hot for a corn...
But I don't have the money to spend on a GOOD thermostat right now...and don't want to waste money on a cheap reptostat from the pet shop, so here is what I can do, let me know if you think it would work for now...or if you think it'll burn my house down
I have the lamp.
I am going to screw in a lamp dimmer to the socket.(1st pic)
The dimmer then has the new socket in it that I will screw in this "socket-to-plug converter". (2nd pic) Then I could plug in my UTH to that plug, and use the dimmer on the dimmer socket to control the UTH temperature. If it will work, temporarily, it will save me some $$ right now...the two pieces together are less than $10 at Walmart.
Has anyone done this before? What are your thoughts?
Completely retarded? You tell me...
Thanks,
-Josh
