Mirage, motley snow corn.
Since I am now a new member of this wonderful forum, you can probably guess what that birthday present was. My daughter really, really, and I mean really wanted a cornsnake for her 12th birthday. I was totally thrilled at the notion that she wanted a "different" pet and that finally I was no longer the only wierd one in the family.
After weeks of doing research on how to care for this pet, we also met a fellow snake lover who told me she knew a breeder and could get one for me at a decent price. So, to make a long story short, the first snake I got my daughter for her birthday died only 5 days later. That really was a bummer... the cute little albino okeetee hatchling just didn't want to eat no more. So, as you can imagine, our little birthday girl was pretty discouraged and so was I, to say the least. Anyways, the person we bought her from felt very bad so she ended up letting us have her older baby Motley snow corn. We are so very grateful to her in finding a replacement snake for my daughter so quickly. My daughter named "her" Mirage, and she is just a cutie (see avatar).
The good news is that Mirage seems very healthy, active and is eating very well with us so far. My daughter and I have been reading lots of posts in this forum and we are amazed at how much we learn every time we visit the forum. We wish to thank everyone involved in creating such a warm ambiance and most of all, what seems to be a very informative and supportive forum for snake enthusiats of all kind. We are looking forward to spending time here and meeting new friends. Best Regards to everyone! Colette & Val
