Hello, I need some help. I have an Albino Corn for over a year now. When I first got her I was told she was a male and to my suprise a week long event (laying eggs) I faound she was a she. This year she is acting almost like she is laying eggs again. She has been under her rock for over 4 weeks now and has refused to feed. She shed last week, a process that took 3 times as long as it normally takes. I know it isn't abnormal for a snake to be hid this long but for this snake it is. She always comes out at night especially when she is hungry. I have gotten her out a couple of times to check on her.
My question I guess it, do corns lay eggs without breeding? I have read for some snakes this could happen and was wondering if it applies to corns also. I have also read that some snakes can hold sperm for up to 2 years. Once again, does this apply to corns also? I am inclined to think that it doesn't but like I said she is acting just like she acted last year at this time. The only difference is that she laid the eggs last year at the beginning of May so it does seem to be a little late in the season for her to be laying eggs. I attached a picture for all to see. Any help will be greatly appreciated, I feel like I'm new at this again.
