Corn snake as a class pet...

I also wash my hands frequently, but thanks for the heads-up... and sorry about the loss of your snakes. :(

Yeah, it's not all bread and roses now is it? But I'll take the corn's feeding habits _any_day. Even getting accidentally bit by my big Pewter girl. Beats keeping live mice, week after week (yuk); or throwing out yet another couple f/t's. That gets old real quick.....I can't wait until the qt period is over with the BP's and I can toss the uneaten to the corns. I swear, I catch them humming Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy! jingles when Friday comes around!

Yeah, I'm still amazed by the corn's feeding responses! I fed the new girl today, less than 24 hours after getting her, and she devoured two adult mice... and just now when I went to check on her, she starting tracking (and briefly striking) my finger through the tub. Dammmmm.:uhoh:

Zounds! Sounds like you got a real keeper there! That's the kind of feeding response we want out of our snakes.... Guess you won't have to worry so much about getting her in with the kids, just keep those fingers away from the moving parts, kiddos, and nobody will get hurt.....:eatpointe

After bringing the BP's on board I have found an even deeper appreciation of the corns. Don't get me wrong, the BP's make very attractive sculptures!!! But the corns and the Rainbow's are so much more interactive. I appreciate my challenges elsewhere beside the feeding department!

LOL! How great that she's such a good feeder... Sounds like those waivers are DEFINITELY needed with a feeding response like that! ;)

I love it when they (the corns, at least--certainly not the big guys) start trying to eat fingers through tank walls... It's so cute. One of my adult females started doing that to me when I tossed her some extra thaw-outs and refusals the other night. It made me giggle. Then feel bad, because I wasn't up to thawing out a whole mouse for her. xP
