corn snake break out

creeping death

thank god im not a pinkie
oh crap,oh crap,oh crap
due to my little bro i now have a corn snake on the loose. its been two days and i have ripped the room apart looking for him and still no luck.i have put the heat mat on the floor with a mouse inside his tube and nothing.
PLEASE HELP.

First off, have you used the search function? That would give you loads of answers.

But here are some methods you can try anyway:

Put some paper bags all round the edges of the room, turn all the lights off (do it at night as snakes are nocturnal) and sit in silence. If your snake is moving round the room, you'll be able to hear him sliding over the bags.

You can try putting some flour in front of every doorway. Then, if the snake slithers through a door, he'll leave a trail you can follow.

Pop-bottle traps, if he's a small snake. Pop a pinkie inside an empty clean pop bottle and invert the top so once the snake has eaten the pinkie he can't get out again due to the lump in his belly. You can carefully cut the bottle to free the snake.

And if you haven't already I would put the mouse lure and heat source on the edges of the room. Snakes tend to move round the walls for a sense of security.

Other than that, just keep searching. Check under and in everything, even if you can't see how the snake could be there. They are GREAT at getting in to odd places. And don't forget, he could have left the room by now, although he probably hasn't gone too far.

Good luck in the search!

Erm...

Not really sure i can help but i have never lost my snake, i had a mate who has lost him 3 times but hes a bit of a scope. I think he looked hard and found him once inside a chair

I am 50/50 on my snake recaptures...I lost one a few months ago in a long story but I caught her in a bottle trap pretty quickly. I recently had another one get out and I haven't been so lucky. The traps aren't working and I haven't had any luck finding his hiding spot.

It's frustrating and crappy, but hang in there! Hopefully yours will turn up, I am know I am wishing for the same thing.

Don't forget to look high

If you have any shelving in the room(s) make sure to look UP also, last month my brother-in-law lost a corn in his room.....Found it curled up ontop of his bookcase on the Harry Potter Volumes...... :)

My sons snake was out for 10 days. We did the search everywhere routine then he turned up hiding in the window blind about 2 feet away from his viv.
Yours may turn up in the strangest place too :)

Put a water dish out for him so he has a chance to live if it takes more than a few days to find him. I once lost a snow corn & he showed up 3 months later.

I wish you luck in finding it !!
