No they're not. If you click "More" in the bottom left-hand corner of the Smilies list, you'll see the violin-player smilie. The system displays different ones in the main listing for reasons unknown to me. But the same smilies have been available since I joined here two years ago, and no new ones have been added.zakee846 said:yeah hah, there used to be like some one playing a violin and the pokeman ball thingy wan't there,

The "exploring" behaviour they exhibit while being handled is actually a sign of stress and looking for a place to hide, (according to the books I've read.)
From what I observe, a snake is still when content (inside it's hide or tank), aroused by scent, or scared and trying to look still.
Perhaps someone with more experience can weigh in on this question?

Someone posted a picture of their corn snuggled up against them sleeping on their couch so I dont know if they are all just tolerating it. I have a snake that does the same thing, I let her loose on my bed and lay down....50 times out of 50 she will come back to me and curl up by my side.
Shes also doesnt 'explore' in my hands, shes pretty content to curl around my wrist and go where ever I go and watch me do chores.
If I thought she was just tolerating it, honestly I probably wouldnt take her out.

Defense mechanisms, feeding behaviours, fear postures, successful sheds, feeding time, all seem more interesting when I watch for subtle changes and make adjustments to enhance my snakes life in captivity.
I said it here before... It's like baseball, it;s a game of great moments followed by a pause.
