I have posted before about my ball python Bella. She is an adorable addition to our family. I'm thinking she is content in her home because she has never been picky or shy with us. She is also in blue right now and blind as she is still eats. I think we have a good match. I just hope this is truth. She seems to kinda struggle with eating a mouse (f/t) by the head. Is this normal? She eats it just fine so I don't worry usually much. Just wondering if its normal. My corn Jake (welcome back) eats great!! Knowing there is a difference makes me wonder. Anything would help. Thanks so much. ;-) Proud momma!!

Nothing really "not normal" about eating the tail end first. It's not as common as head first, mostly because of the way legs bend and don't bend. It's definitely not a rare occurrence, and as long as she gets the food down then whatever works works!

Glad to hear you and your snakes get along so well.

I had the pleasure of handling a baby Royal Python a couple of days ago. I am sorely tempted to get one, but have not made my mind up yet lol x

I am very much in love with both our ball python and our corn. I am not going to lie that Bella (python) is kinda my favorite. They both are very much loved. I'm very happy to have them.

think of it like this, snakes that eat head end first are right handed, and snakes that eat butt end first are left handed.

I am not sure she eAts from butt end but I see her struggling when she does eat. Where as my corn has it down pat. She goes into her hide and once she gets it started its over. I do really love her. She is shedding for the first time with me and she is just shedding in pieces. I am going to get a nice warm towel and see how that works in assisting her. At least her eye caps came of at once. Whew!
