Korn-natter has examples of both your looking for the site is in german though. Go to the left frame labled "reptilien" then in the drop down go to "Bauanlietungen". You'll find what your looking for I'll be building a pair of wood vivs over the next weeks and will post pictures as they come along.

The Chemistry department at the local university was throwing away a lot of old stuff and I found a display case that had total of 6 displays built in that were 36"x12"x12" each. It had glass framed openings on each display that opened downward. Perfect for a viv. I just added ventilitation and then gave it to my brother for him to use. You might try looking around for something like that.

As soon as I get a digital camera I will post what I have built. I came up with a plan to build my 16 yr old son a queen size bed, since he is now 5"11 1/2 inches. I wanted a bed with what I guess would be called a waterbed frame, meaning it housed drawers underneath the bed.
The plan I came up with allowed us 10 drawers and included top towers at the head of the bed. We call it a wall bed, meaning the head of the bed is a series of bookcases basically connected with bridges and in front of those is the bed. Anyway I incorporated our snakes enclosure in this design.
We also created a rock wall surface in the enclosure itself so it looks like a rock on front, back, top, and sides. It actually looks pretty dang good if I do say so myself lol. I am about the most inexperienced person in the world with tools and trust me I mean that and yet I came up with this and was able to make it, so it can be done, no matter what skill level you are.
Anyway as soon as I get a digital cam I will post pics. I may just get film, take regular pics, have them developed then just scan them. That probably will get the picture on here sooner lol.
