Czar has gone blue

Sorry I didn't answer sooner, I went to work.
Hrmm yeah you don't want to disrupt him if he just ate then. If he still hasn't shed after he poops take a tupperware container with some luke warm water and let him bath some, it also helps if you wipe him down with a towel. But the rubbing him down thing is generally reserved for if it's a problematic shed.

Thanks. I'm sorry if that pm sounded dumb, I'd just never thought of bathing a snake... now i know what you meant. Cornflakes just pooped (he'd eaten a really small pinkie) so maybe i'll try that later, I saw him rubbing his face on the rough surface I provided. Unfortunately he stopped doing it after a minute or so and i think he went to sleep. :(

The bathing shouldn't be necessary, most snakes shed without any problems as long as the humidity is right. You could put a humid hide in or spray the viv with water if you're concerned.

That's what i did. I put a little hide full of spagnum moss in there, he won't go inside. And still no shed...

Update: Another day, still no shed. Cornflakes seems pretty happy, no skin problems. Is it possible that his body "changed its mind"?, lol. :)

Yes!

He shed! Finally! I watched him! the timing was really funny too! I was sitting in front of his viv, he was happily zooming around his new piece of (sterilized) driftwood that I'd given him when I saw him in blue. I said aloud to him (yes I talk to him, I'm not ashamed of it, I'm sure everyone talks to their pets) "why don't you shed, you little dummy?" Well almost as if he'd heard me, he started banging his little head against that driftwood and he shed right before my eyes! I checked him over carefully. He shed both spectacles, his tail tip, everything came off except for a few scales, but those came simply by me blowing softly on them (it was just one or two scales).

OH! forgot to mention, results from scale count are in!

Drum roll please..........

It's a boy! 142 scales, baby! Whooo! :dancer:
