So yesterday something good happened for me :D this year i purchased 4 2010 hatchlings, a Miami, a Snow, an Anery and a Blood Red, they were all awesome eaters devouring any pinky that crossed it's path, well. My beautiful Blood Red is now devouring any Fuzzy in her path, the other 3 on the other hand... suddenly stopped eating after about 5 meals, i didn't know why i figured maybe slowing down for winter? after a month of 3 non eaters.. my Snow and Miami unfortunately passed. My Anery was seemingly healthy and larger than our other 2010's so i wasn't too worried, but still went another 2 weeks without eating. In the middle of last week i started worrying, a month and a half for a baby to not eat seemed worrying to me, but then i noticed she was shedding?! WHAT?! how can you possibly grow if u don't eat for so long?! anyways, after the shed yesterday she is back to her pinky devouring self :D

Anyone else know what may have happened here? Temps are fine, Sprayed for mites, 2 hides, hot side cool side, fresh water, seemingly everything is textbook and basic.

Thanks.

Nick.

Sorry to hear about the snakes that didn't make it. If the Anery had some meals in her she probably did grow to the point of needing to shed. I'm no expert as I am new to corns also but a lot of people will say that most corns don't want to feed for a bit before they shed. A month and a half does seem long to not feed though.

I think the skin also gets worn out. I dunno how long it took for the anery to shed after the last time she did, but if it was over 6 weeks it probably took longer then usual, implying not eating did slow it down to a point where it was just worn out.

By chance are you Co-Habitating your snakeys? If so, that could be the reason for not eating! Having snakes live together in the same cage is stressfull and often leads to refusal of food. They are solitary creatures and like to be alone.

Nope, all of my snakes are in separate containers, each of appropriate size based on the snake.

THought I would take a shot at it......I am sorry you are having these problems and I am truly sorry for the two babies you lost!
