Hope this may help some of you, i built my own incubator and the materials needed are as follows,
1....polystyrene box (free from aquarium centers)
1....fishtank heater/thermostat (about 20 pound)
1....powerhead pump(to circulate water so as to avoid hot spots,about 10 pound.
1.....12"x12" glass or perspex( about 2 pound).
What i did was first cut a hole in the lid of the box about10"x10", then about 8" from the bottom on the inside placed a piece of wire (from an old firegaurd)plced 6" of water in it a put the heater and the pump in the water set the temp gauge on the heater to 30 degrees and turn it all on for 1 week b4 use to set temp.oh yeah i used silicon to fix glass over the hole in lid,see pics below....
