Dean's Snakes Part 1

nice pics...try to adjust your f stop a little so the whole snake is in focus...like the last few pics...it looks like you used a low f stop probably 4 or 5.6? try to use 8 or 11...also are you shooting in RAW?

I've only got my on camera flash, so using a high f stop doesn't really work out that well. Once I get a Nikon Speedlight I'll crank the aperature down and mess around with it for a while.

I wasn't shooting in raw for this particular photo shoot.

do you mean you have the camera on flash mode or using manual with flash?

I mean that I've only got the pop up (on camera flash) and don't currently have any additional hot shoe flashes. The pop up doesn't offer enough light to really step the fstop up enough for that. I let the camera do all of that until I can get my hands on a speedlight.

*jaw hits floor* what morph are those purple ones with the peachy saddles?! They're absolutely beautiful!! (no comments Joe, I know they're lavs, but theres something else to the morph, am sure =P)

The lavender in the first set is a bloodred lav, and the other lavender in the set is a hypo lav.

Ohhhh thanks, pretty pretty snakes =O Must build room extension to fit more tanks in LOL. 33 gallon standard tanks take up a lot of room ~,~

With that many great shots of such beautiful snakes, it's hard to think just what to say, but really . . . Awesome, guys!

I'd also like to say that I'd give my eyeteeth for Vlad - Roy/Dean, do you trade snakes for teeth? LOL Just kidding. :grin01:
