Defecation behavior

My newish snake has 2 weeks in a row defecated out of his viv 2 days after eating. Is it worth changing his feeding day so he doesnt do this on peoples arm. and will it always happen 2 days later.

Thanks

I would change my handling day til the third day after eating.
Problem solve!!

Handling a snake in that timeline wil line provoke it.

This is very normal behavior and trying to predict it would be harder than predicting what's going to happen in the stock market. You can try, but "good luck". I know that handling sessions will some times cause poo. It's the excersize.

Hey, when he does it, just tell the people he does it to, that he likes them! ;)

If he/she poos on someone you can always say "S&%T Happens )" always say it with a smile. :sidestep:

On a little more serious note, medusacoils said it best it is the excercize.
I give mine a luke warm bath on the second day after feeding. The swim around a little and sure enough, "poo". Mine seem to like the bath, however, I have heard of some which do not like it and you must make sure the tub you use is not dirty or have had harsh chemicals in it. Also the temp of the water can not be too hot or to cold. Also use only enough water to just get on there backs, put a rock or I use a bowl turned upside down in the tub so that they can cling on to if they want. Mine tend to rather swim around and look like water snakes.

ive got mine trained to go in the bathtub.....easier cleanup...little tylex and a little bleach and its down the drain...no viv problems either

somehow we have an understanding and he has not pooped on me yet...hes an albino so i can see the poop through him and know when its time

I like the bath tub idea. My snake is only about 20 inches so i wouldnt use alot of water. And how hot should it actually be. Thnaks
