Ice Ghost Adults
Mick,
I currently have the only adult Ice Ghost, so I will try to give you a description of them. I will start out with the hatchling when they are born. Their back ground color is bone white, with only trace amounts of a pattern. Their “V” on their head is blue, which also occurs on other morphs, but the Ice retain it into adult hood, although it darkens. The Ice Ghost have blue eyes with dark ruby pupils.
The Ice Ghost can vary like other Ghost, but the majority of them have very reduced black pigment into the adult stage and retain their bone white/grayish background color. The under lying colors present in the breeding stock the Ice come from is revealed nicely in the adults, due to the very reduced amount of black pigment. The adult Ice that I have now have a cast of pink on top of the whitish/gray back ground color and between any remaining gray color which is very distinctive. The yellow on the sides of the Ice is also revealed and combined with the pink on the whitish/gray background gives them a very colorful ghostly appearance.
The photo attached, for those who can see it, is a comparison photo between a regular Ghost and Ice Ghost, which to me shows how different the Ice really are. I was just looking at this Ghost yesterday, because I am feeding my colony heavily at this time. She is actually a very light ghost and not nearly as dark as she seems in the photo. The Ice Ghost next to her is almost “Translucent”, at least in the areas that should be black and any underlying colors show through very nicely.
