I tried giving my guy a bath in lukewam water. he was fine in the water as long as he was in my hand but when I took him off he quickly crawled out of the tank and was not happy. Does just mean he doesn't like it or just not used to I really wanted to watch him swim but not if it scares him. THANKS

The water should be room temperature ie. cool (but not cold) to our touch. There's nothing the matter if your snake doesn't like baths, one of mine doesn't either:).

I use room temp. also. I did not use very much water the first time. This way they were in water but could rest on bottom easliy.

my old rat snake....

he didnt like the water either was frunny watching him swim though he used to always go towards the plug end and try climb up the plug chain and pulled the plug out. didnt bath him when he was little only when he was about 2ft long

dont worry

Personally, I have yet to own a corn that has actually enjoyed the bath. It's surprising to me so many people bath their corns since mine really seem to hate it, and they seem scared and nervous. But I know thats just my snakes.....

Mine all do perfectly fine without a bath :)

Frank really seems to enjoy his baths. He swims around for awhile without trying to get out of the tub. He can get out of the tub unassisted when he wants to, so I know he must want to be in there.

bathing

Tutankamon, my one year oketee loves bathing now and again, I just put him in a low tank with a litle of room temp. water on the bottom so he can get out when he wishes. He will stay in there for ten minutes or so and then just come to me and rest around my arm absorbing heat or sleeping...hes so lovely!!!!
:p

baths??!!

My corns are on the same bathing plan as me. Once a month if it is needed or not:p just kidding of course. Actually i put mine in water when I notice they are about to shed 10 minutes or so luke warm water and I have never had a problem with a shed yet...

baths

It took my corn a bit to get used to it, but he seems to like it now. And I believe it is good for their scales.

yea i agree my corn has only 2 things on his mind when he hit's the water
poop and get out as fast as he can:rolleyes:

Yesterday Suzy actually got off my hand and got into his bath himself. Result.

Why do snakes cr:)p in the bath?

I think the water kinda warms them up and get's things flowin if you know what i mean:D
but don't worry every time i bath my corn he poops. i think it's nice because i don't have to clean his cage if he poops in the water. I just bath him 2 days after his food and there we go
