Disembodied hand shot?

It's funny how things merge together in your head, well, in my head.
I was taking some pictures of a job I was doing at work. I held a piston in my hand and took some pics with my phone. When I labeled the pics I wrote "JDpistonDHS" to note it as "John Deere piston Disembodied Hand Shot".
It just struck me as a little funny.

You could just as easily label it the RDMHADHS . . . or the Roy "Dean" Munson Hairy Arm Disembodied Hand Shot! :)

I'm just saying that previous to my reading at this forum I'm pretty sure I never used the phrase "disembodied hand shot". Now it's part of my vocabulary, I even used it without thinking as a label.
Thanks?

Alan, I got thinking about the disembodied hand shots that Mr Munson is so keen on. Do you remember The Adams Family ? I can't be sure , but I think that old Dean and Thing are actually one and the same. Never heard what became of Thing after the show was canceled . I thought that was him in those Yellow Pages ads a while back, but now I'm thinking that maybe, just maybe, that he got into corn snakes. It makes sense. A hand without a body and bodies without hands. Why not ? Or maybe I'm just crazy.
