Divide up glass tank for hatchlings?

Hi,

I have an extra 20 gallon long glass aquarium that is not being used by anything. I was wondering if you think I could put some sort of temporary division in it (say in halves or thirds) and use it for hatchlings? If so, what sort of material should the divider be made out of? I'm thinking flexwatt tape would be the easiest way to heat it...though I have no idea how to use it yet.

Years ago I had a tank I divided like that. I put a coach whip on one side and a cal king on the other. It took the kingsnake a day and a half to figure out how to get past the divider and eat the coach whip.

Hatchlings are so easy to house in shoebox containers, I don’t think I would mess with trying to salvage the twenty long. Save it for a bigger snake.
