Divided tank for corns

PnyKlr

World's Tallest Midget
Would a 55 gallon tank (48"x12"x 6") be an "okay" size for two corns to live to adulthood in? The tank is divided into equal spaces, so I guess each side would be 24"x12"x36".

I would prefer using this tank, rather than purchasing a new one (or two).

Thanks!

How do you get 24 X 12 X 36? If I divide a 48" tub in half it's 24" the 12" and 6" stay the same. This would not suffice for 2 adults. It would be fine for yearlings though. Adults need minimum 20 gl which is 24 X 12 X 14 and I routinely housed in 30 gl.

My dimensions came from the change in length of the the tank. It is 48" long, 12" wide, and 36" high. Each side would be 24" long, 12" wide, and 36" high (the only thing that changes is the length).

*Sorry for the second reply*

If the tank itself is 55 gallons, then each "half" would then be 27.5 gallons.

Ah, because the original measurements you gave were 48 X 12 X 6. There was no 36" mentioned. Corns need more floor space than height, so it would be better if it wasn't so high, but was wider. Length is good.

Sorry about that typo! I hadn't realized it was even there, else I would have re-posted about the actual dimensions.

Thanks for the feedback!
