DIY: Vivarium from bookshelf

Isn't this a little short with the depth of the tank? It looks very long and high, but not deep at all in the pictures, JW. I might take this project on and just change the size of the bookshelf i'm using. I'd rather have more depth than height. Or at least i think i would rather have that. lol I've only got a 15 inch corn.

The bookshelf is around 11 inches deep, which I judged enough for an adult corn, even when coiled up. Another reason why is so narrow is because it is placed in the garage, and sometimes I need to use it for what it is intended. Any deeper and I probably couldn't get out of the car. :D

It's been a while I don't update this thread....

My dad helped me to finalize the vivarium and here are some pictures... Let me know what you think.

Since the gaps were too big, I put foam and tule.

After the Plexiglas was attached, I sealed it to the wood with silicone.

Wow!!It's been a long time coming but I must say the finished product looks really good! Congrats on finishing it :0) I'm sure your snakes love their new place :)

For that big Plexiglas, I paid around $45.
Also, I drilled it myself.
In addition, because the glass/Plexiglas would be installed in a big swinging door, I thought Plexiglas would be safer.
