I totally believe in the UFO phenomenon as a result of there being some sort of alien presence. There is just too much irrefutable evidence and testimony from highly creditable witnesses that one cannot deny.
One might argue that there is no tangible evidence to base anything but I would argue that the vast amounts of tangible evidence has been appropriated by the military as has been testified by those that have experienced any tangible items. Then of course there are hundreds if not thousands of pictures that cannot be discounted as forgeries or hoaxes including video as well.
In fact, there's quite a bit of video from the space shuttle missions that were being sent to NASA via unencrypted satellite transmissions that have been recorded by a Canadian, Martyn Stubbs, and have been released on dvd entitled " The Secret NASA Transmissions". This is without a doubt the most compelling argument for the existence of UFO's. The video compilation shows actual space shuttle footage that shows all sorts of UFO occurrences from many different shuttle missions. One of my favorite clips is when the shuttle just had their camera aimed off of the earths horizon and you see right off the edge of the screen this object moving very fast in the distance and then change it's trajectory at a hard 45 degree angle in the blink of an eye. There is nothing in our current understanding of nature and space that can do that. Then of course there is the failed space tether experiment that was conducted by one of the shuttle missions where the tether snapped and drifted off into space where it was then surrounded by all sorts of flying objects. Some have argued that the "debris" was a glare type of effect on the lense of the camera, but when you see many of these objects, some of them huge, fly behind the space tether that was many miles away from the shuttle after it snapped, you tend to discount the arguments on lense glare or debris.
There are many good videos out there as well as a ton of bad ones. But if you go on amazon and read the reviews, you'll be directed to the more profound and believable ones.
My wife and I have also witnessed something that we cannot explain. One summer afternoon in Southern California, we were standing in the driveway talking to my wifes mother. It was a beautiful clear blue sky for as long as the eye could see except this one single small low lying cloud that was maybe only a mile in the distance. The cloud was by my mother-in-law so that it was always visible while we were talking to her. Then, just like that, something shot out of the cloud and went straight up out of our atmosphere without making any noise at all. Like I said, it was perfectly clear out with no other clouds, so we would have seen any objects that would have been flying around. And plus, this thing just shot straight up and disappeared within 2 seconds. My wife is a flight attendant at the Portland, Oregon airport where there is an Air Force Reserve fighter squadron of F-16's and F-18's and we're used to seeing them flying around and one time I actually did see one pull up quickly and shoot straight up into the sky, but it was a very loud experience due to the thrusters on that plane. What we saw in So. Cal was completely silent. When my wife and I saw that "UFO" shoot off, we just looked at each other in disbelief. It was weird.

Everybody should read Cosmos by Carl Sagan.
While I am a huge Carl Sagan fan and grew up watching Cosmos on PBS in the early 80's, I have a problem with his skeptical view on the UFO phenomenon. Don't get me wrong, he's one of my heroes and I think he was an extremely intelligent person who worked on many of NASA's space missions, but in my opinion, while he was alive, he was not able to discount any of the credible UFO accounts. His skepticism was pure conjecture. He always claimed that he strongly believed that alien life existed but he totally refused to believe that aliens were visiting our planet. He even wrote the fictional book "Contact" about alien contact which was later made into a movie of the same name that starred Jodie Foster and Matthew McConaughey. It was a very interesting movie which often crossed the bridge of science versus religion. While Cosmos will definitely provide you with a lot of historical education and theoretical ideas, it is also a bit outdated and needs to be updated. I think Contact provides a little more insight into Carl Sagan's view of UFO's and alien existence.
There are also some good documentary TV shows such as The UFO Files which are frequently aired on The History channel and Unsolved Mysteries (which also sells a dedicated UFO dvd box set) had many good segments on the phenomenon.
