Does anyone know where I can get a Dual location Digital Thermometer in the UK?

www.livefoods.co.uk - my Mum works for Vetark (free reptile supplements and cleaner for me, woo!) and she told me about this site) They do a lot more than just food.

Although you will be able to find them in any hardware store - homebase, BnQ etc.
Otherwise known as 'Indoor/Outdoor' rather than 'dual probe'

Yup.

I use indoor/outdoor type. Only single probe though ... probe gives me subtrate temp, unit gives me ambient. Mine also does humidity. Got it from maplin electronics.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe they're referring to a thermometer that has two external probes and not just an indoor/outdoor with one probe and one internal sensor. I don't believe there is a dual probe therm. at the above listed site.
Sorry, being in the US I can't help with locating things over there. Maybe some US companies ship overseas? :shrugs: Although, until yesterday or the day before when someone else posted and mentioned one I hadn't seen any dual probe thermometers, but I'm sure they exist at other stores.

Good luck searching.

Yeah, My mind was somewhere else really:p, what I meant to put was that if you found one that said Indoor/outdoor, it doesn't necessarily mean its two probes. Sorry if it didn't make sense..
I just looked at the link I gave and I swore one of the thermometers on there was dual probe but it wasn't.. Oh well, like I said, Any good hardware shop should do them.

I never did find a dual probe one in the UK.

I'm quite happy with single probe/ambient and humidity .... that version has served me well enough so far. :)

Hmm That is strange not being able to find one... I just Assumed and made and ASS out of U and ME,

But yeah I'm doing fine with my single probe/ambient one too. I'd like a better one, but its alright :p

Or do you just move the probe when required?

Got it in one.

Normally, the probe is left in the warm side, ambient temp taken in the cool. Thats how I've always done it anyway.

If anyone is interested I have found a company in Austrialia called Ultimate Reptile that do these dual probe thermometers for about £15 and they ship to the UK.

Whats the shipping cost from Oz like?

I hate to think .... surface mail may not be too bad but it'll take about 3 months ....
