I don't know of any other way to explain this. =P
I produced a litter of rats by breeding my seal point male, Digit, back to his seal-point daughter. Based on the quality of the local "pet" rats, I thought it best to utilize my own stock rather than risk bringing something home.
Anyway...the father-daughter pairing yielded some interesting results. All of them ended up being albino, based on the red eyes. But some had cream colored hoods that are barely visible now in adulthood. Except for one male, his hood stayed the same color and got a tad bit more tan. And as time went on, he started to display the nose. Although, his nose is turning out to be darker than his dad's or mom's.
What do you call this? Would it be correct in assuming this is a double homo trait? Also, the mother of the daughter is a grey/blue hooded rat. And in just about every litter she has, I'll end up with a couple seal pointed offspring. Is the sealpoint dominant or recessive?
At any rate, I thought it was interesting. =)
