Hey everyone,
I was looking around the FAQs and searching shedding, but still had a few questions...
My baby okeetee looks almost like shes getting ready to start shedding towards her tail (towards her tail is much paler, but towards her head is still pretty bright, and doesnt look dull), and she doesnt have the tell-tale blue eyes at all. She also has a tiny dry spot on the top of her head that almost looks flakey/peely which I tried to use a wet washcloth to get off (maybe 2mm x 2mm). It didnt come off when I used the washcloth, it just stuck to her scales and looked like just another part of her skin. I didnt want to scratch at it to try to get it off in case it was something that shouldnt come off.
Do you think shes just getting ready to shed? I also know that some snakes never get "blue" before they shed- how often does this happen?

Her sister is in deep blue, so Im already misting the viv to keep the humidity up, and also have a hide I made that has a bunch of damp paper towels, so I guess if shes getting ready to shed, shell be set.

Sounds normal to me, Both times Chompy's gone into blue since i've got him its started with his tail going alot paler than the rest of his body then over the next day or two the rest of him catches up the eyes are always the last thing to go murky with him. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

But maybe someone a bit more experienced can shed some light on it?.

Please don't try to peel off any loose skin you see. You could damage the skin which is delicate preshed. A damp hide or a session in a lunchbox with a wet washcloth will help if needed without damaging the scales.
 
thats good to know... still new to this whole snake ownership thing, and still a worried mom! haha

Ill keep an eye on her for the next few days
 
I notice my snake getting dull colors and slightly shiny several days before and after she actualy goes blue. Your snake is probably hiding as best as it can while its in blue so its easy to miss, it doesn't last that long.
 
My snakes are always dull for a few days to even a week before they officially go "blue" it's just part of the cycle.
