Hi i have a male anery stripe that i mated with a female cube/stripe i expected a few stripes but i got:
6 Normals
4 Amels
3 Anerys
2 Snows

what does that mean the parents are het for? thanks for your time..

That would make the male het amel, and the female het amel and anery (which makes a snow). This would give you amels, anerys, normals, and snows (amel/anery).

Is this the first time this female has bred? Is it possible that she was bred last year to a different snake? Corns have been known to retain sperm for up to a year for breeding purposes.

Another slight possibility is that one of your animals was a "Pin-Stripe Motley". This is where it has a stripe effect on it, but is still the motley gene. If this was the case, all of your clutch should be motley.

So basically pictures would help us with your conundrum. Both parents and some of the babies please.

:shrugs:thats the problem i didnt get any stripes..

Did you at least get all motleys? If not, then something is definitely wrong. Photos of the parents and the hatchlings are in order, or at least more detailed information as to what the hatchlings are, color and pattern.

I had to check into this too lol, I'm still getting used to how stripe/motley interact. I think I have it figured out.

Stripe and motley ar recessive to normal, but motley is dominant to stripe? So a mm to ss would give all ms offspring with a motley phenotype but het stripe?

So from what I gather, for this scenario, one of the animals in question wasn't what you thought it was, or is something else altogether, or possibly retained sperm from a previous breeding?

I'm very curious to see pictures!
