Eating after laying eggs...

CornCrazy

What's one more???
My snow corn laid a clutch of eggs on 4/17/03. She still hasn't shown any interest in eating since then. When should I get worried? She seems quite skinny to me...

dont forget she is probally about to shed again - some of my females will eat the next day after laying (it makes for a happy care free life when they do - no worrying) others i normally have to wait untill they have shed again whcih is roughly between 12 and 18 days after they have laid there eggs - if she doesnt eat after shedding and you knwo shes a good feeder get her to the vet pronto to check for egg binding etc
hope that helps

I just know that last year, she started eating right away and it concerned me that this year she didn't. I think you may be right about the shedding thing, though. It's hard to tell with her if she is in blue phase or not, but I think her eyes may be a little cloudy. I truly hope that's all it is!

Thanks for your response

i got a snow corn like yours too :) i am lucky though she started eating 2 dyas after (alhtough only one fluff) and now she is shedding hence refusing to eat - i knwo she'll pig herself later though - i am sure your snake wil be fine although i knwo how worrying it can be
good luck

Well...

she finally shed!! And she ate 3 weanlings. I'll move her back up to larger food soon. Last year she was eating small rats after she laid her eggs! I am so releived that she is going to be OK. This is just my second year having eggs so I am still a newbie and unsure what to expect.

Thanks!
