ok i got this new anery and i feed it like 3 mins ago a little pinky only when he went to eat it he didn't constrict arund it to kill it he just bit its head and tried to eat it that way. is this normal for really young snake to do or what this is the youngest snake i have ever had.

Lots of times they don't bother constricting pinkies because they're so little and harmless.
Nothing to worry about :)

is it possible that its always been fed f/t rather than live?
if so it may not ever have HAD to constrict :)

I only feed F/T, and all my snakes except for two of them just mozy up and eat with no constricting. My Anery has always leaped up and constricted his already dead meal since the day I got him. Also my Ball constricts his F/T meal too. Kind of cute though.

HMMM......i also think that he didnt constrict it because there was no need to since there wasnt any life in the food in the first place, so just ate it lyin..........

hope i helped

 << i love these new faces!

Completly normal. My little girl didn't start constricting until her 3rd or 4th fuzzy. It was sad cuase the mouse would still be alive inside the snake and try to push out of him. Now she usualy constricts but often trys to just eat first and notices that it's trying to get away.

Urgh, I couldn't handle that! Wasn't it a bit sqeamish to watch? I would have felt sorry for the mouse and worried about the snake, but I guess a lil pinkie can't do much harm. God, I'm such a girl!!

I had one that did this too.. I could actually hear the pinky peeping inside the snake for a short while afterwards....

my

Pueblan Milksnake who is just sooo frikkin tiny eats the live pinkies live. Not a bit of constricting. hahaha. Doesn't seem to harm him/her although I will be making my attempts at switching over to Thawed as soon as possible.
