Ecobed?

My first post on this forum, so, Hello Everyone :)

Just trying to find out if anyone uses this http://www.ecobed.co.uk/ or similar. Using aubiose at the moment but just not getting on with it really as I like to feed in the vivs and its getting everywhere. Don't want to use newspaper really as my snakes like to burrow around. Or maybe you have some other ideas as to a suitable substrate that I can use and feed in the vivs still. I have heard some use rabbit feeder pellets?

Thanks x.

What I use and many other people, is aspen, it is great for the snakes digging around and not much money at all

There's a similar product on this side of the pond made with cardboard. I like it okay, but it isn't my first choice. Rabbit food works pretty darn well, as does Yesterday's News cat litter -made from recycled newspaper. I use mostly YN and aspen.

The aubiose that I use at the moment is almost the same as aspen. I suppose the main reason why I'm not getting on with it is because of feeding in the vivs. It makes no difference how dry the mice or rats are I can see small bits of the substrate going into the snakes mouths. I don't know what peoples thoughts are on this over seas but here in the uk its a real no no. I have no evidence that it causes problems but then I have no evidence to say it doesn't.

I feed outside the main vivs in escape-proof feeding tanks, for that reason. Most Corns will eat outside their vivs if you try it and the feeding tanks don't have to be big as the snakes are only in them long enough to eat.

My feeding tanks are the small plastic ones with the clip-down lids, sold with most reptile starter kits.
