So I was finishing up changing out the aspen in my Aneries' bins. I put Ed back in and as he always does, he burrowed straight down and dissappeared. Figuring he'd stay put (as he almost always does) I started to slide his bin back into the rack, but the right side hung up a bit so I focused my attention on that side. As the bin was amost all the way in, I felt a sharp bump on my left wrist. Ed, who was making a break for it, must have realized that he was about to get a mighty pinch (yes, I'm giving him a lot of credit here) and gave me a nip on my wrist to get my attention. I pulled him back out and gave him a good looking over to make sure I hadn't injured him with my inattention, but he looked none the worse.
So anyway... be it a natural reaction to sensing impending danger or a purposeful attempt at communication, his well timed nip saved me from reporting that I broke my little guy.
Okay... Off to Home Depot to get them larger snake hides (aka upside down flower pot bases). They've all outgrown their current pots...er... hides.
