I know some use perlite, some use vermiculite (anyone use both?) but what about the quality of the product? Is nersury-grade ok? Or is it important to get "good" stuff from a distributor like bigapple?

I use only Vermiculite and have for many years. I've had a 95% or better hatch rate with it. I buy it at a local garden center. It's the only way to go in my book. IMHO
