Eggs Due! Wont Be here HELP!

Bug22baby

Snakes and more Snakes
Well guys I have a big question, because this is my first time handeling eggs Im not sure on what to do in this situation so here it goes. Well I been super sick with Mono to the point that now I have liver complications and such and may have to me admitted into the hospital. Well it just so happens that my eggs are on day 68 and one looks like it could start pipping any moment. If I had any luck they would hatch right now so I could get them into a stable enviorment until I get back. Well the odds of that happening is pretty slim. Therefore I was wondering if they do hatch while Im gone will they survive in the incubator at 80 degrees on pearlite? I was thinking maybe I should put a small thing of water in there or something? Is there a better idea? I only have 2 eggs that survived and both looked great till today when I noticed one is starting to indent some I thought maybe that ment he was coming out of his shell soon. The other one is still big and plump. Any suggestions/comments would be helpful. Thanks Amanda

The hatchlings will be just fine for at least 7 days. I usually leave them in the incubation tubs until they shed.

I hope you get to feeling better.

I agree 100%... especially with the part about you feeling better.

I incubate on perlite at 84* and have left the babies in there for at least a week on occasion. As long as there's adequate moisture and you have a couple of little air holes in the incubation tub, I think they'd be fine.

Great Thanks much!! Im really dissapointed that I may be missing them pip. But its good to know that they will be ok!

Thank You for your encouragement!

Amanda
