Is it true that if the snake is living in a tank that 3 out of the 4 side panels must not be clear, other words, be covered up?

Why? Won't this restrict the ammount of natural light?

I've heard that too. something about reducing stress as the snake feels more secure. makes sence. Having said that I kept one of my corns in a tank without covering the sides for 6 months and she was fine. Just have to make sure there's plenty of hides so they can go out of sight if they want
