I just recently got into corn snakes as my mother (in an arguement while I was moving out) sold my entire tank setup and bearded dragon for 30 bucks behind my back. I got a cute little snow (i think). Anyways, Ive owned reptiles in the past (all lizards tho), and ive got a few tanks laying around from 10-100 gal. I figured the 10 gal would be fine for now since its so small at the moment. My question is, for heat Im using a small sticky under tank heat pad used for heating my old scorpion tank (think it was marketed for hermit crabs). I think it puts out enough heat, and the snake seems to stay active when i take him out and isnt freezing or anything. The pad covers prolly 1/4th the tank underneath, and is directly below the main hiding spot of the snake. I eventually plan to move to one of the much larger tanks when my corn gets bigger. should i go buy a bigger heat pad thingy now or is the small one ive got sufficient? Thanks, this forum has such a great community. Im becoming addicted to corn snakes already with my first one.
