Derp snake says hi.
Hi all,

My beloved Caulker Cay boa, Tucson, got out today. I left his viv unlatched by accident and he made a break for it. I've Ben sobbing hysterically since I realized it. I put water, a hide, and a very hot fuzzy on the ground. I feel like the worst snake mom in human existence and want to sell my others because there's no way any of them deserve to be with someone as god awful as I am. Just could use some thoughts and prayers. Thanks.

I just went through the same thing, and I found my guy after two days, so I am sending my good luck to you.

Search EVERYTHING near his viv, at all levels, they are good at climbing and hiding.

Search in places you wouldn't think of checking, and anyplace that is warm.

Pour a small line of flour between rooms and you can see if he slithered from one room to the next and which direction he went.

Check this sticky, it has great ideas. http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109391

Biggest hugs, and best of luck!!! Don't beat yourself up, chances are on your side. Let us know when he comes home!

Awww. Don't beat yourself up so bad. Even the best keepers have had an escape or two. The plus side, you'd be surprised how many of them end up turning back up. In fact, there were two just recently. Keep positive :) and *hugs*

:awcrap:

I want to echo Smigon's advice about looking in places where you don't think they would be. My only {knock on wood} escape was a young corn who I found behind a picture frame on the wall ! Not warm (winter), seemingly too far up for him to reach ... and just "nuts". But there he was - whew . . .

GOOD LUCK !

GOOD LUCK !

GOOD LUCK !
