During a power outage we were relocating our reptiles to somewhere warm when our 4 year old corn got out and went towards the engine through the door jam of the car. We were left with 8 inches of his tail to hold on to but could not see or feel the rest of him. We started to take the car apart to try to get him out when I felt him go limp. We were then able to slowly maneuver him back out. He was cold and limp. I thought he was dead. He had at this point been outside in -2 F for 25 min. We were able to get him warm and he seems to have come around. I am letting him recover in his tank( it has been about 12 hours now). I am sure the end of his tail was frozen. Does anyone have any idea of what health concerns I might be facing. Will the dead portion of tail fall off?
