THERE'S A NEW THREAD ON RACKS. NOW ITS MY TURN. BEFORE I GO ANY FURTHER I HAVE DONE A SEARCH AND READ MOST THREADS. EVEN THREADS AS OLD AS '02. OK HERE'S MY PROBLEM:

hOW MUCH OF A GAP SHOULD YOU HAVE BETWEEN THE RIM OF THE TUB AND THE TOP OF THE SHELF. i TRIED THIS WEEKEND TO MAKE A 1 TUB RACK, JUST FOR FUN. i HAD TO PUSH THE TUB IN IT WAS VERY TIGHT. i DIDN'T TRUST HOW IF i GRABBED THE SIDE OF THE TUB AND PULLED HARD IT LEFT A 1/4 INCH GAP. i DON'T KNOW IF ALL RACKS ARE LIKE THIS OR IF i WAS PULLING TOO HARD. a LITTLE WORRIED TO PUT MY SNAKE IN. sHE'S A CORN ABOUT 1.5 YRS. iTS JUST THAT THE STERILITE TUB SEEMS A LITTLE FLIMSY? wHAT DO YOU THINK. CAN YOU HELP! oPINIONS?? mY BIGGEST PROBLEM IS i HAVE HER IN A HOME MADE VIV THAT IS VERY HARD TO TAKE HER OUT. SO SHE COMES OUT ALOT LESS THAN MY OTHERS.

I just completed the rack system below. I measured everything for a perfect fit (no gap) plus 1/16" extra space. This works perfect. The boxes slide right in with ease, yet there is not enough space for the animal to slither out.
