excessive noise

I also play the drums! But there is a way of being able to have the snakes in the room if it is your only option. An electric drumkit. I own the Roland-TD12 which set me back $6000AUD 4 years ago, probably now about $4000. Very good quality kit which sounds and acts like an acoustic. You can get cheaper kits for closer to $500 but price does define quality. This way you can wear headphones and the only thing the snake will hear is the tap of sticks on rubber. Also your neighbours will thank you for it :p

Those drum kits rock!
I have one- except that I have decided to sell it because I have the room for a real one and I wasn't spending the time on the electic one to justify it.
eBay. Check there for good deals. Or buy mine! Lol.

Those were the first one's the came to my mind when I thought about it. then I saw the price tag.

If you wanna keep a set in the same room as your snakes, consider an electric set with headphones. If there's a will, there's a way.

oh of course. and I want that electric set for more reasons than the snakes well being (neighbors, my ear) . But as Naagas said, I probably won't justify the price....

but I decided to simply move the snakes to a room with no noise at all.
I was keeping them in the "computer" room (where everything makes some kind of noise), but I think moving them, making this room a "noise room" will be better.

the original idea was to keep an eye on them.
Thanks for responses. :)

just an update, I did a test like you did Naagas,

well after blasting the room, I checked on him, and he's drinking.....
what do you make of that?

You woke him up? I don't think that is a sign of stress. Do the test a few more times and see how he reacts each time. I think drinking is just a sign that he was out and wandering around, so the noise got him up and about.
