Eye Scale

Hi,

I haven't actually got my first snake yet, getting my first corn in roughly two weeks (buying viv etc this weekend)

I understand that when shedding it is important that if some skin is left on the tail to remove it promptly, And also the brille (I've done my research.. oh yes. :D)
But any tips for removing the scale covering the eye in the event of it not coming off?

Compared to removing the skin off the tail its a bit more... 'Ooer' if you get my drift.

Thanks
Marty

A piece of tape over the retained eye cap is all that is necessary. Apply the tape and then remove the tape and usually the retained eye cap will come off to.

I've never used the tape method. I just use a q-tip in warm water to gently get it started and rub it off. I've never run into this problem with my corns though - only my ball pythons who are very uncooperative (and the big one is much stronger than my corns). So far all my corns have always gotten their eyecaps off - knock on wood.
