Fast weight gain?

Our older corn was 586 grams in March. He's now 625 grams, and we have been feeding him less and playing with him more. He is handled every day as appropriate to his feed schedule and gets 1 large mouse twice a month. He's three and a half years old. Shouldn't his growth and weight gain be settling down right now, and holding pretty steady?

Mal is gaining super fast, too. He hatched early this spring and on 6/22 was 11 grams and now is almost 18 grams. He gets a large pinkie once a week and is out to play every day, except where determined by his feeding schedule.

I have no desire to powerfeed or anything like that. I just want them to grow at a healthy rate and have long healthy lives. Maybe this is all normal and I am being silly? That would be nice. :)

The weight difference in your older corn is only 39 grams, and could easily be attributed to not having a bowel movement or getting close to shedding. My adults can drop that amount or more with a good BM or a shed. The weight gain in the hatchling is perfect. Wait until you see how much just a single feeding can do once a corn snake passes the 75 gram mark!

Thanks for the reassurance! We just got a scale recently so I may be obsessing a bit over weighing them and all of that. ;)
